Little hands on Art

Little hands on Art ...

"The creation of beauty is Art"!

This month has been action packed for me. Finally I'm out the assessments and all set to rock my summer holidays and to tide over the unbearable heat of the summer months with my bird. Finally will have some time to work on my blog :) Before I start posting my recent tours, travels and DIY's, I would like to share some wonderful art work by my school kids displaying their talents in various art forms. It gives a great privilege to announce that on 27th of this month our school inaugurated the UNESCO club, wherein the beautiful art & craft work made by the students were on display and was much appreciated by the honorable Chief guest.

The pots displaying the Warli art form which is in regular use since the Paleolithic Period or the Stone Age which began around 2 million years ago. Its a tribal art mostly practiced by the tribals or adhivasis. Earlier these paintings were done on rocks, pillars, caves, seals, etc but in modern time its taken over in many different surfaces. Basic geometrical shapes and graphics such as circle, square, rectangle, triangle, etc are used while painting the scenes. These paintings generally depicted hunting, farming, celebrations, household activities etc. Its was wonderful to see your children indulging in these form of art as it helps them to understand the concepts practically, and would help them to retain them for a longer period of time.

Few students even tried their hands on Mosaic art and the outcome were extremely good. Way to go kids ... Being a teacher we should understand the importance of a child's creativity and do inspire children to develop love for the art and boost their confidence. Apart from mosaic various art forms like glass paintings, clay modelling, T-shirt paintings, paper mache, etc were also on display. This event showcased the activities we did round the year with our lovely kids.

Mosaic is a pattern produced by assembling small pieces of colored glass pieces of stones, tiles, glass, etc. Its been an incredible art form that has fascinated people for centuries. These tiny colored glass pieces are small in size, but leaves a big impact on all...

With complex designs these tiny colored glasses make masterpieces to be treasured. Mosaic tiles are available in all colors these days and are so much fun and look wonderful beyond words!

Hand painted T-shirts by our young students expressing their love and craze for art. This can be an ultimate way to reuse an old T-shirt and would definitely spark some inspiration.

I thoroughly enjoyed this exhibition... What about you? Lets motivate such talented kids by giving a like or leaving a comment... :) Thanks for joining ...

Live by the Sun, Love by the Moon.

Live by the S un, Love by the M oon. "To love photography is to love life in all its raw, messy, and beautiful forms. Every click of the shutter is a testament to our desire to hold onto what matters—to celebrate what we see and share it with the world." I came across this story the other day.  In this story, the sun accidentally burned the moon, who ran away.  The sun was so sad that his tears fell as rain on Earth.  The sun looked for the moon until midnight, but he fell asleep.  To this day, the sun is still looking for the moon, which is why the sun is visible in the morning and the moon is visible at night.   It’s that time of year again, when the weather is dreary and we long to see the sun, and even the moon. Together, the Moon and Sun create a perfect harmony—a balance of light and shadow, rest and action, mystery and clarity. Their love story is written across the skies, a timeless dance that connects us all to something greater. Sun is not just about i...

Pithoragarh - a hidden paradise

Pithoragarh - a hidden paradise Going to the mountains is going home.                                         - John Muir Summer vacation is the most pleasing time and are long awaited by all of us. After a year of continuous work at school, my vacations finally commenced. It's probably the happiest and most awaited period in every student and teacher's life. To improve some boredom of our daily life in the plains we once again planned to spend our vacations in our native place "Pithoragarh" - a place I die to visit every year. A trip to such place is the best way to spend my vacation.  Image Source : Deepak Chand On both sides of the road, we could see the lofty green hills, floating clouds, humming bees, delicious fresh fruits hanging, chirping of birds, soothing smell of trees and cool breeze all around. Even a large number of waterfalls were seen on our way.  ...
