Pithoragarh - a hidden paradise
Going to the mountains is going home.
- John Muir
Summer vacation is the most pleasing time and are long awaited by all of us. After a year of continuous work at school, my vacations finally commenced. It's probably the happiest and most awaited period in every student and teacher's life. To improve some boredom of our daily life in the plains we once again planned to spend our vacations in our native place "Pithoragarh"- a place I die to visit every year. A trip to such place is the best way to spend my vacation.

On both sides of the road, we could see the lofty green hills, floating clouds, humming bees, delicious fresh fruits hanging, chirping of birds, soothing smell of trees and cool breeze all around. Even a large number of waterfalls were seen on our way.
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever".
Pithoragarh is also known as "Mini Kashmir" in the hills of Kumaon region. It lies in the centre of Soar valley. A Gateway to the Himalayas, and a hidden tourist spot for explorers. It was a complete panorama of natural beauty.

"A straight touch of nature".
Nature has countless facets. Pithoragarh is a great city to visit in Uttarankhand. It is also reffered to as "Dev Bhoomi" due to many Hindu temples and pilgrimage temples. Visit to such a place is always a pleasure. We went out everyday and enjoyed the sight of the hills.

Nature is an integral part of everyone's life.
A beautiful place to capture real beauty of nature and the peaks of Himalayas - The Sentry of India. A quiet, peaceful and almost unexplored this hill station is still far from the hustle and bustle of the cities. These giant Himalayas are a source of great pride and joy for every Indian.

These extremely delicious and mouth watering deep-red colored wild raspberries ( Kaafals ) are found throughout mid-Himalayan region. They are very refreshing to eat. So whenever you plan your next trip to hills in summers check them out in the locals. It is worth trying !
I still remember the pleasant breeze of the hills and the sweet clear water of the springs place to place. It was a fun and happy experience like every year and its memory is still fresh in our minds.
The experience is unforgettable. We really needed a rejuvenating break and what Pithoragarh offered us last month was exactly that... :)
