Mont Marte - Mixed Media Canvas Fun !

Mont Marte - Mixed Media Canvas Fun !

October was a month full of fun, masti, dhamaal, festive goodies, sweets and what not. Lets outstretch our arms and welcome November with loads of luck, good health and inspirations...

Hello everyone tonight I am sharing with you my first try with Mont Marte, that I thoroughly enjoyed making !!!

I had handpicked two Mont Marte canvas 8" X 10" from a local store sometimes back.

Today I've a step wise tutorial of my Mixed Media Canvas fun...

You will need -

  • White Mont Marte Canvas 8" X 10".
  • Splash Colours.
  • Mont Marte Modelling clay.
  • Flower embellishments.
  • Metallic colours.
  • Chipboard.
  • Glue gun.
  • Glitters.
  • Pollens.

Step 1 - You need a plain white Mont Marte Canvas of 8" X 10",  and splash colours.

Step 2 - Lay your canvas flat and make sure the portion to be decorated is clean. Like a chose and started with Hot Pink, and later added dash of other colours unevenly. Let it rest and dry for next one hour at least.

Step 3 - As the colours are now locked in, use Mont Marte modelling paste and stencils to get the perfect wave. There are many patterns available, out of which I chose Laser cut pattern for that wavy look.

Step 4 - Place the stencil on the canvas, hold a cutlery knife, take small portions of the modelling paste on the knife and start spreading over from left to right direction. Try to layer the paste flat on the stencil, to avoid peaks.

Step 5 - Once you apply the paste over the stencil, immediately take it out. This is how it will appear (as shown below). Then again place the stencil on the space left and cover the area with the same pattern and again follow the same direction with modelling paste. Once the modelling paste is done let it dry for at least 2 hours for better results.

Step 6 - Assemble different embellishments to decorate it. I have used my few left over paper flower embellishments and chipboards which I have used in my previous DIYs. Before pasting, place them in the correct order and change the position if required. Once the placement is done kickoff pasting it, with glue gun. I have painted the chipboard frame with three different metallic colours as seen below.

Here's the final outlook of my effort.

I hope you liked the idea and will give it a try. Have happy days ahead will see you soon... :)

Live by the Sun, Love by the Moon.

Live by the S un, Love by the M oon. "To love photography is to love life in all its raw, messy, and beautiful forms. Every click of the shutter is a testament to our desire to hold onto what matters—to celebrate what we see and share it with the world." I came across this story the other day.  In this story, the sun accidentally burned the moon, who ran away.  The sun was so sad that his tears fell as rain on Earth.  The sun looked for the moon until midnight, but he fell asleep.  To this day, the sun is still looking for the moon, which is why the sun is visible in the morning and the moon is visible at night.   It’s that time of year again, when the weather is dreary and we long to see the sun, and even the moon. Together, the Moon and Sun create a perfect harmony—a balance of light and shadow, rest and action, mystery and clarity. Their love story is written across the skies, a timeless dance that connects us all to something greater. Sun is not just about i...

Pithoragarh - a hidden paradise

Pithoragarh - a hidden paradise Going to the mountains is going home.                                         - John Muir Summer vacation is the most pleasing time and are long awaited by all of us. After a year of continuous work at school, my vacations finally commenced. It's probably the happiest and most awaited period in every student and teacher's life. To improve some boredom of our daily life in the plains we once again planned to spend our vacations in our native place "Pithoragarh" - a place I die to visit every year. A trip to such place is the best way to spend my vacation.  Image Source : Deepak Chand On both sides of the road, we could see the lofty green hills, floating clouds, humming bees, delicious fresh fruits hanging, chirping of birds, soothing smell of trees and cool breeze all around. Even a large number of waterfalls were seen on our way.  ...
